fundraining ideas

Hiya
am a committee member for a registered charity pre-school in my village, we are always needing to raise funds and wondered if people had any ideas.
we've done things like the silver trail, calendars, race nights and table top sales
what we are really looking for is a big event with a good return.
any help would be great!

www.raisemagazine.co.uk is a free magazine aimed at groups involved in fundraising. I think it's supposed to be for women's groups and things rather than schools, but there's usually ideas for all sorts of events.0

I work for a charity and the list of fundraising idea is pretty much endless...
A few ideas that I like are:-
Auctions- maybe ask local business to donate prizes
Walks - Organise and walk and ask people to sponsor you.
A Ball/Party- get glammed up and sell tickets for a dance and maybe a luxury raffle
Arts and Crafts exhibition with items for sale and a viewing fee.
Arrange a talk and ask for donations for a cup of tea and cake/scones etc

Hasn't anyone noticed that the name of this forum is spelled wrong? Or is this where we rain down funds on deserving causes?
I am confused, but I think understandably so.What's the point of growing up if you can't be childish sometimes?0
