    I just tried to order some boys clothes for my kids but as soon as I clicked to go to the checkout they all changed to unavailable :'(:'(

  • THanks for the tips! Its a bit annoying though cos I only placed an order at the weekend for a couple of items and now they have reduced them down further! If I'd ordered them today I could of saved £9. Oh well!

    They still have some good storage ideas - like boxes for £1-£2, deak lights. Don't be fooled by the was price as all the thing i have had previously were worth far more e.g. i purchased a jacket for £3 that was originaly £75 but it said £6.50 :o If anyone one wants any of the item codes posting just ask and i will hunt them down again ;)

    What im annoyed about is I order things and then get told they are out of stock!Why are they on the website then?

    I got fed up with trying to order things, only to be told they were out of stock, so I emailed Stuart Rose and Maurice Helfgott. This was the reply I got:

    Thank you for your emails regarding your experience with some of the clearance furniture. I am very sorry you have had this poor experience.

    As the head of e-commerce, with overall responsibility for the website and operations, I tracked your email yesterday and although Maurice was going to reply to you, in light of your second email we agreed it would probably be better for me to reply to you directly.

    The issue as you correctly identified is that the real time availability position on this particular range of ready made furniture product is not checked until the checkout stage. Whilst this is not normally a problem the high level of clearance product has caused us to be out of sync on the earlier product pages with the availability position.

    This is a fairly exceptional ready made furniture clearance sale and we are working through these products to improve the situation and aim to get this completed as quickly as we can and some of the changes have already been made. As I am sure you will appreciate this will also be an ongoing process until all the clearance lines have gone.

    I'm sorry the availability has not been there of the clearance items you may have wanted and can understand how frustrating this must have been. As you point out, availability is key to shopping online and we are constantly working to make sure we improve the accuracy of the information and it's positioning in the journey.

    I'm also clearly disappointed that our website customer services team weren't helpful and left you feeling that we don't manage our shop during the weekend, this isn't the case and I will discuss your experience with my contact centre team.

    Thanks for taking the time to send us your feedback and I hope that this won't prevent you from shopping online with us again in the future.

    tried to order some kids clothes yesterday reduced to £1 but when i went to checkout all were unavailable :(:(. just noticed they are offering £10 of a £50 spend for 1st time customers. might try again today, but it is very time consuming

    The Marks & Spencer website must be the worst I've ever visited! Complete and utter CR*P! >:(

    Tried to order kids clothes last night and at first it was working fine. Then it told me it had removed items from my basket - what a cheek!

    This morning the search facility doesn't seem to be working and I didn't jot down the product codes so I don't if I will bother trying again later on. I think there are better ways to spend my lunch time!

    And yes they are offering £10 off a £50 spend but it says that it can't be used in conjunction with other offers.....so I don't know if it would work on clearance/reduced items?

    Ordered some baby clothes last night

    2 * dungaree sets
    1 * check shirt
    1* light blue top

    Order placed successfully. Got a phone call on my answer machine at home from M& S at lunchtime today.
    What's the chances that they have none of the items I ordered?!

    Went back in today, and all are sold out. :(
