All i can say is, if you own any shares in M&S dump them...this looks like extreme desperation :-/

Not really, most stores end up with 75% off at the end of the sale. Debenhams, BHS, and H&M to name a few.

I'd definitely buy some of this gear - if only I could fit into size 14 or 18 shirts!!
This isn't desperation - just M&S clearing the last of the unwanted stock so they can move on. All companies do this just to tidy up at the end of the sale.

In Newcastle loads of Limited Collection ladieswear is reduced to £5. Yesterday I got a pair of trousers, jeans, skirt and two tops for £25, which would have originally cost almost £200.

Yes but they still are predicted to be making £600 million I wouldn't be complaining if that was in my bank account, of course I'm not a ginormous high street retailer. ;D

Its just been on the news that they overstocked at Xmas so now they are going to have to dump loads of stock and it will cost them 40 million to do this, guess this is where the 75% discount comes in
