Moved House, bill up from £50 to £150 a month

Hi there,

Got my first quaterly bill at my new house and it's working out at £150 a month for elec and gas combined, this is just crazy. The house has one extra bedroom and one extra downstairs room compared to my last house and we only paid £50 a month there.

I've checked the meter and it spins at a crazy rate when the heatings on, the boiler isn't brand new but it's only about 5 years old so shouldn't be too bad.

Any ideas?

When we moved to our new house, our electric bills were half the price we paid at our old house.

It's probably the equipment you have.

What unit prices were yu paying at the old house vs the new one and how may units are you consuming?

Also is the bill based on actual usage or just a estimate?
