Got ib50 form-why do they ask about dla?

Hi folks,

I have been on incapacity benefit for a long time now over 10 years due to mental health panic attacks and depression as well as artharitis (reason why I had to leave my former job) and I take constant medication for it. I have just received the ib50 form to fill in, after 5 years its review time again for me. I also get dla mobility and personal care both at the lower rate (indefinate award) and I notice that they ask about that on the ib50 form. I know that the 2 benefits assessments are totally separate so I am wondering why do they ask about dla on this form? I sort of get the impression that its for any examining doctor to flag up anyone that they think is not entitled to dla as well as doing the medical for the incapacity benefit. What do you think, am I totally worng in thinking that?
They also ask for a med4 though I thought that you didn't need to send that when you are on incapcity for a number of years but I will see my gp and send it anyways.

already I'm beginning to worry a lot and its only the early stages.

many thanks
jay

IF you qualify for higher rate care you are exempt from the IB medicals, which is why they will ask.

You are exempt from the IB medical if you are claiming DLA High Rate Care, not Mob.
