Hello, we have been with Goldfish for years, and get points with our spending , to use in Marks and Spencers, Currys etc.,
Just had a letter saying Barclaycard have bought Goldfish, they operate we understand from India, we are not going to carry on with them.
We pay in full every month, has anyone got any recommendations for such as us, ie want some rewards, and we pay off each month?
Thanks in anticipation. oap

I've also been with Goldfish years - didn't know about Barclaycard taking over. Very worrying.
However, for information on where to go now, I think we'd both do better in the Credit Card Thread on the Pure Money board.0 -
Well guys I can't comment on Goldfish as I am a Capital One customer and will remain a customer for the foreseable future, as for Indian call centres they should burn them down to the ground and that’s all I've got to say about that.

I know that Barclaycard has a call centre in Stockton, near Middlesbrough, again I can't comment on the others they might have though0

If they have a call center in stockton they wont be able to get in to work due to all that horrendous smog
that floats about in Boro land. Its allways dark there 24/7 hehe0 -

How often do you call their customer services people? Enough that it's the deciding factor in losing out on those M&S points?

There isn't a filter on non-UK call centres though."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
Capital One AND Barclaycard both have call centres based in both the UK and India.
It depends on the time of day when you call as to whether you speak to someone in the UK or India.
In both cases, I have found the UK call centres very helpful with some rather complex transactions that I have made in the past.0 -
The UK would benefit from the use of call centres, it would certainly get some of the bums back into work!Capital One AND Barclaycard both have call centres based in both the UK and India.

Thank you all very much for the input, will go to the threads recommended, we have not had to call much, but when we have they have been very very good, always Scottish voices, so presume in Scotland at present.
Will have a good look around. Its amazing how much the points mount up, it used to be one penny per pound, now its half penny per pound, but as you pay our car insurance, house insurance, etc, etc, plus food and petrol, we get a reasonable return I suppose.
Many thanks again, always so good to read the helpful tips on here. Best wishes oap:T0
