Slishing sound from central heating?

You're right ,in the airing cupboard there are no earth clips at all that I can see, unless they're behind the tank.
I just had the heating on and had a good old listen, although I can hear the water moving through the pipes, so assume there are air bubbles in there, I can't get a feel for where the air is actually finding it's way in.
I got up in the loft and took the lid of the expansion tank, but all calm in there, no sign of air being sucked through the water.
It's a puzzler... I wish it was still under the NHBC (?) guarantee so I could yank them in and get them to sort it out0 -
Hi
I meant clips that would secure the pipes to the wall.
Look in the installation manual and see if the expansion tank and pipework are to the measurements quoted.
Air will be drawn down through the vent not the cold feed.

Ah, in that case I can confirm the pipes are clipped to the wall, just higher up
In terms of the 450mm vent height, it's easily that, probably more like 600mm, and definitely 22mm pipework for that.0 -
I seem to have blown everyone's mind then
Can I ask the experts, would it help if I raised the height of the vent, but kept the Expansion Tank where it is?
I'm just thinking the further up the vent goes, the bigger the head of water the pump needs to have to push aerated water into the tank (which I think is what is happening)?
Any thoughts?0 -
Hi my hubby suggests putting an air seperator on the pump supply and then fit the cold feed and the open vent into the air seperator to eliminate the problem.0

Not sure what you mean.My mind is ok. It's up to you to establish if you have a blocked cold feed and maybe alter the pipework so that it looks like the manufacturers diagram.
