Where do you all live! 6 free range eggs here cost about 1.48. Moot point really as we have 6 cluckies running around the garden laying about 5 a day on average...perhaps I should start selling the spares...

I'm quite lucky, one of the guys at work keeps chickens so he brings me in 6 eggs every couple of weeks. I give him a £1 each time as its his daughter that takes care of them so its her pocket money if you see what I mean. Means we are all happy :) and they last for ages cos they are so fresh when he brings them to me

Mind wouldnt pay Mr T £1 for 6 eggs :rotfl:

And, IIRC, 0 for organic implies they are free range. My local farm shop is £1.20 for 6. Free range means that you have to be careful not to run them over in the farmyard!

I get mine fresh from the farm ( have even seen the chickens:D ) for 75p for half a dozen! our local cheapie fruit and veg shop sells them for 80p(med) or 90p (large) They are astronomical in the supermarkets.

I pay £1.10 for large Free Range eggs, local "produced", the only issue is when they escape onto the road .. causes traffic woes, LOL!

Double-yolks I think are more common in early Spring.

I also buy eggs from my local WI market, mind you, I liked the fact that during the Winter I couldn't buy any ... cos it was too cold and therefore they'd stopped laying. Whilst "frustrating", I found that a more natural reason for lack of supply :) (Their's are 90p for 6).
