How do I save video camera to DVD

Hi

I would like to be able to save footage from my video camera tapes onto DVD.

I don't know how to do this, can anyone help?

My handbook is pretty useless.

Thanks very much.

Really need more info. What's your camera model? Do you want to do it through the PC, or do you have a standalone dvd recorder?
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it

I'm sure there are companys that do this for you however when I had the 8mm tape I use to copy it through my video recorder on the telly using your TV/ Camcorder leads.
I now have a DVD camcorder that copies onto 8mm cd. I replay it on the telly and copy it onto a CD as I have a DVD recorder or I record onto SD card then use the computer to burn a CD.
All come to he who waits!

To make this an easier answer, we will need to know what ouputs is on your camcorder and what leads do you have? eg usb, composit etc and also what inputs do you have on your pc, eg TV in etc
if you can get it onto your pc save as a avi file, then either burn a vcd disc using a standard writeable cd, or then convert to a dvd format to burn onto a dvd disc there are quite a few softwares out for converting i use Cucusoft myself. Maybe not the best software now but i have used it for a long time now and no problems with conversion or burning.

  • I used the 'Dazzle video creator' to do this. You can route this through your PC or straight to DVD. The only issue had was installing the software that came with it, and ending up downloading a patch to do this.

    The results are very good
