Barclay Visa Card elderly parent needs help!

My mother has a Visa card with barclays and is in her 70's she has been ill this past year and can no longer do her PT job and finding the re-payments hard.

Can she call Visa and request they freeze the interest and lower the payments please?

She does have some savings with a building society, will they be able to find this information out? its her emergency fund bless her.

    I don't see how they can find out...it won't be on a ny credit report for obvious reasons...they should only know if she/you tell them....could also be a good idea to keep it entirely separate if you do make payments from it at some point : take cash out and pay at a bank or maybe pay into a current account and pay from there...

    Right I will tell her to keep quite then.

    And yes the accounts are totally separate.

  • She called today Sunday and they have frozen the account and told her not to pay this month, she has to call and speak to someone on tuesday as they requested.
