Bathroom Vinyl

Hi
Have just realised that my bathroom vinyl needs replacing - as in its been damaged (not by me:mad: )and I'm pretty upset about that. Thats a totally unexpected expense to me - it was good for years as far as I was concerned - so am hoping its not going to cost too much.
Anyone got any ideas what sort of price I am looking at - for mid-price range quality (best way I can explain what quality level I am after is to say - think Habitat, not MFI - as thats about my level. If we were talking clothes - think Marks & Spencers - not Primark on the one hand or Jaegar on the other). That should give you the gist of the pricerange/quality I look towards buying things.
The size of my bathroom is:
206 cms width (81" in English) by 282 cms depth (111" in English).
I would need it fitted as well by the supplier firm - so am hoping that I would get free fitting included (as with the carpets I've recently had to buy).
So:
1. what sort of price per square metre am I looking at for that sort of quality level (dont know if the style makes any difference - which will be as near identical look as possible to what I have now - sort of Spanish-y tiles type look).
2. would fitting be free for that - and, if not, how much would that be.

why dont you try out the sticky tiles in poundland/99p stores. i think they are a pack of five, maybe 6 so wouldnt cost too much, sorry aint got sizes with me, weve had them in our kitchen for a couple of years and do the job well. saw some today so can still vouch they are around and hopefully should be able to stick yourself. hth0

you could pick a decent piece of vinyl up for about £50 for your bathroom . good luck if you can find anybody offering free fitting. maybe if your were getting more work done you could've cut a deal but with just the bathroom to do i think you'll need to pay the fitting around £200

My bathroom is roughly 2m x 2m and I went looking at vinyl flooring last weekend. When I asked about fitting prices I was told that it would probably be in the region of the minimum fitting charge which was £40 to £45, this was in Carpetworld and Allied carpets.
I think most places charge for fitting vinyl as it is not quite as easy to fit as carpet, my OH recently fitted carpet in my daughters bedroom but I wouldn't consider asking him to fit vinyl as one wrong cut and its ruined!!I hated going to weddings. All the grandmas would poke me saying "You're next". They stopped when I started doing it to them at funerals

Why not try any small local shops?
Where I live it's about 60 miles from the big stores so we never use the likes of Allied etc., but a local shop has thousands of carpet samples and vinyl and are very competitively priced. Their service is excellent and we've never had a problem with quality. We are about to order some vinyl for our bathroom and it is £12.80 per sq metre and that the all in price. It has a 5 year guarantee. They have others, the £20+ per sq metre has a 15 year guarantee but we aren't planning to be here that long!0 -
You would probably benefit from having a non-slip finish in a bathroom and floors2go have some reasonably priced vinyl @ £15.99 psqm in a variety of colours, including terracotta tiles

We used this; thick, warm to the feet, non slip.

I really like the look of wood but obviously that's not practical in a bathroom so we went for this type of vinyl - http://www.karndean.com/gallery_previews.asp?main=residential&sub=bathroom&type=pvc
We chose the vinyl which comes in strips to look like wood planks and you can make a feature by using their fine coloured strips as a border around the room. Our fitter laid the centre strips at an angle and used more strips around the perimeter as a border.
Pricewise it was considerably cheaper than Amtico. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I've got the Rhinofloor in both kitchen and bathroom and it is a very good quality cushioned vinyl. They do a fantastic range of colours and designs too, something to suit everyone!
