New member - HELP!!!!! I received an attachment from a friend recently which is being circulated at present. It states that we should avoid buying petrol from Esso and BP as they are actually the same company and the largest provider of petrol and therefore as they have the monopoloy of the market they keep the prices of petrol so high!!!! Why wouldn't they? By buying from smaller providers this will apparently (as the email spreads and word gets round) force the prices down! However having mentioned this to someone recently they informed me they'd seen a watchdog programme which actually said that Esso and BP provide all the small providers as well which means changing where we get our petrol will have no affect at all?????!!!!!!!! Has anyone else any information on this unfair monopoly???????

I buy my petrol from wherever it is cheapest. The companies (and the government who take 70% (?) of the price in tax will not lower their prices because the public have a tantrum.
Look after No 1.
Don't steal - the government doesn't like competition!
