forgot admin password on my pc windows xp

Hi i hope u no wot i mean when you want to reformat a pc for example or press f8 i think it is and it takes u into the bios settings etc well before we reformatted last time the password was my daughter and now were trying to reformat again but its saying that password is incorrect but we havent changed it.,..so has it been changed to2 a factory setting or something as we had reformatted it and if so does anyone know what the factory setting is for windows xp pro many thanks in advance if anyone can help me please add me on msn [EMAIL="kelly.kaysha@hotmail.co.uk"]kelly.kaysha@hotmail.co.uk[/EMAIL] xx

also worth noting the pc isnt set up to boot from cd so i carnt get into it this way to change the password any ideas pleaaaaaaaaaaassssssseeeeee x

    you might want to remove your hotmail address

    you need to go into the bios to get it to boot from CD, the key to press should come up when it boots

    A bios password, or a windows password.

    If it's a pc, take the battery out.

  • when u press delete to go to that page when the pc has restarted thats the password i need the one where it asks for password to change bios settings or boot setting

  • yes we turned pc off took it to bits took battery out put it back together then turned it on and its still asking for pasword when pressin delete

    try leaving it off for half an hour, without the battery, and switched off at the wall point.

    What model of PC, there is probably a jumper labelled bios or similar on the motherboard.

    you don't have caps/numlock on, when typing the password do you?
