I was quite keen when I first found this thread, printed off the voucher and was about to tell the missus... then I read a few of the reports and changed my mind!

My local chippie is always brilliant ("best fisssionchips in Yorkshire" says I) and for £2.05 it's reet guid

NB. that's the one on Oakworth Road in Keighley.

I guess what you have to do is present your voucher before you place your order, to make sure it will be honoured.

Pretty stupid really saying no photocopies on an internet available voucher.....quite pathetic actually.

I'm not sure it's worth the 25 min drive into Cardiff Bay to be faced with

    1. Expensive food and drinks, even with one plate free.

    2. The possibility the restaurant will refuse the voucher!

    3. The possibility the food won't be up to much.

  • Hi

We used a printed voucher on monday bank holiday. It was a take away HR.

We had one large cod & chips and 2 battered sausage & chips, 2 drinks, a coleslaw and a curry dip. With the voucher came to £4.40 for everything

    Tasted lovely.

    hi penny,

    Which voucher did you use?
  • Hi

Used the voucher the OP posted initially. Worked fine for me at Ashford, it was a take-away and not a restaurant, but was lovely and so cheap.

  • Thanks for that. After reading the other reports, I thought I'd stick to my local fishnchips shop.

But maybe I'll try the one in Bluewater next time I'm there. Has anyone been to the one in Bluewater?

I suppose I could always keep my voucher in my handbag and walk around to check out the prices. My local fish n chips shop only costs around £4-5 for a meal.

I agree. Our local fish & chip shop is excellent. Large Fish & Chips Twice for around £8, always hot and fresh (because they always have people queuing to the door and 3 or 4 people serving!).
    Beat that Mr Ramsden!!

  • Went to the Thurrock one - never again - felt ripped off.
  • I've had no trouble using the printed vouchers in Meadowhall and Blackpool takeaways in the last few days.

I was there on Bank Holiday monday. Got 2 medium fish and chips and a large coke for £4.40. It did take all 5 members of staff on duty at the time to look at the voucher, but it was accepted without hassle (it was a B&W print out).

Review? The chips were dry, the fish was nice, but quite small (although the batter made it look much bigger). And the "large" coke was only 400 ml.

    But value for money? Certainly.
