Clothkits is back!!

Have always looked at Clothkits but never been able to afford them. Do remember my mother buying something similar back in the 60s and being very disappointed when it arrived because there were no scraps for me to play with:rolleyes: Her sewing skills were minimal and as far as I can remember that blouse was never made up.
Math I made all of my children's clothes - one parent even asked if I made their shoes as well seeing as I had made everything else:D They are now all in their 20s and boast about their homemade childhood clothes to their friends. They were not conventional sizes and homemade meant that they had clothes that fitted - not so sure that Clothkits would have been suitable as I was using a size 18months Vogue trouser pattern for my eldest son - with appropriate leg adjustment:D - when he was 7 - very skinny for his age. Because I made the clothes from recycled adults clothes I was more than happy to pass their clothes on to friends when they had outgrown them instead of passing down the family.
DD is now starting to make her own unique clothes and I am looking forward to creating for my grandchildren - but not from kits - ours are orginals don't you know.:cool:True wealth lies in contentment - not cash. Dollydaydream 20060 -
I was a clothkits child too! Some of the stuff on that site is so cute, but I agree very expensive! Feeling quite nostalgic now!
