http://www.megabus.co.uk is offering 100,000 free seats on its services to and from London, excluding internal and cross-border services to and from locations in Scotland. The seats are available on Monday to Thursday journeys from 12 September until 12 December. Customers taking up the free seats offer pay only the standard 50p booking fee.
Just tried a few dates in Sept, Oct, FREE travel was offered.
Dont know if this is the right forum thread to post this, if not hopefully the mods can move it.

There's a bit more info on this link: http://www.megabus.co.uk/timetables/seat_sale.php

Thankyou for this useful bargain, but may I ask for a bit more help?
Megabus dates currently don't appear to go beyond end October - has anyone been able to overcome this yet?

I'd like to know this aswell, need to book some for late november.. We could probably call them to order, but at 60p a minute its not going to be even close to free by the time we are finnished.0 -
Ive just looked at the megabus site for a trip from Bristol. Only place they offer to take me is London. Type in the details you require and see what comes up-I guess they are just filling empty spaces hence the price and duration/availability of the offer. Now if I wanted to go to London I would book this now!Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0

Thanks, just booked my lads a cheap trip to London for the day. Mighty pleased they are too.Like classic rock with an up to date feel?
Me too! My son has a rock band, ask me about them! :beer:0 -
That's really cool, thanks. The only warning I would give is that last time I travelled by Megabus, it was the worst journey I've ever experienced. There's nowhere to put luggage, except on your knee, or under your feet, and the bus had no openable windows, nor A/C, and the temperature must have been over 40C, as it felt hotter than Egypt (where I'd just come back from!). I seriously thought I was going to pass out. That journey only cost me a pound, but I've NEVER gone back - some things are just not worth saving money on. At the moment, National Express are offering funfares - search for this on their main site. I'm off to London from Liverpool next week for £6 with no booking fee.
Cheers,

Megabus open bookings 45 days ahead of travel, and the first seats to go are always the cheapest. So best thing is to book 45 days ahead. One point - I did a return from London to Glasgow last year, coming back two weeks after I left. Outbound tickets were £1 but I decide to wait until the return leg came into view, so I wouldn't have to pay the 50p booking fee twice. Unfortunately y the time I did my outward leg had gone upto £3. So if you're coming back a few days after you go it's probably worth paying the booking fee twice.0 -
Why, oh why do these lovely offers never apply to travel from SW Scotland?0
