I saw the Betfair offer of £25 bet and your money back on the National. Cannot lose, I thought.
In order to get betting you had to give a credit card number and £2 would be taken, just to verify your identity and age.
Hey only £2. I got the £25 back. So only lost £2 as I bet it as well.
But the credit card charged a £3 cash advance fee for giving the £2 to Betfair.
So my £2 bet cost £5.
I could have won lots but all my tips were destined to fall or become tins of Chappie.
Hey ho, I won't be betting again.
Not MSEs fault, just my own for not realising that the £2 would be classed as a cash advance.

Hi Redten.
It always leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you end up paying more than you expected to.
Hope you still enjoyed watching the National as you would still have got £25 worth of bets free.
If you also went through a cashback site, like Quidco, then you should get an extra £50/£30/£25 (dependent on the day you signed up to Betfair) in a few months time. That should soften the blow a little, I hope.

dunno why you were charged £2 to verify age, I wasn't. I bet £35 and got £25 back and won £58, plus £30 off quidco.0
