Autopayment cancellation - help

I have just ordered a 7 daytrial online with a US company and only paid the shipping costs, I was tied in to a autopayment that would be taken after the trial finished in 14 days.
I have cancelled the autopayment immediately by email but just read a review of the company and several people have cancelled this autopayment and STILL been charged.
I was thinking of cancelling my card in case they charge me or am I being too hasty and over worrying:huh: ???

.How can you have a trial for goods?name the company..had you clicked on another link..that took you to another company..this is common in US
  • The company is Urban Nutrition - they sell health supplements etc., it was all on their site - I thought nothing of it until after I ordered the trial and saw some people were still charged.
I think I am over worrying to be honest.

You have ordered a free sample from an online company in US that operates out of a PO box.In order to get your credit/debit card details, they have charged you postage .I don't think you are over worrying,I think you are right to be concerned.Speak to your bank asap.was it credit card,or debit? How could you possibly tell what was in these products?
  • I have been caught by this company too. They also go by the above name and have this website http://www.facialserum-pcs.com/bcm/index.php?&country123=uk&aid=151&oid=10.

I thought I was getting afree trial bottle and just had to pay the postage (£3.95), I ordered, but when I clicked on the t&c a message came up saying something like "Oops our bad!" and then explaining that the page was currently unavailable due to an error. I then tried the link to customer services to immediately cancel the order as I became suspicious. That link came up as an "error" too! I couldn't cancel!

A day or too later an american chap called to "verify shipping". He wanted to reconfirm my address. I wouldn't verify & asked him to cancel. I took his name.

I have now, several weeks later, been billed £3.95 on my credit card (the postage fee?) and another payment of £96.35!!! They are listed as 'CML Purcollagen.Com'.

I have phoned a customer service number (expensive one!), having re-checked the website and the links are now working, and asked for a full refund. I have not received the product and had cancelled it!

Had I not checked my credit card statement I would have been billed this amount every month!

I hope the full refund comes through.

Has anyone else managed a refund from this company?

Tell the company and your bank, in writing, that you have cancelled the company's authority to debit your account. The FSA say that this should be sufficient to avoid recurring payments.
  • Oh dear, it's looking like a scam. I have googled the company and found other people have been caught out too. Even when promised a refund it doesnt materialise and another payment comes out the next month. Apparently the face cream is not great either (if you do get it). Also someone on this website http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/anti-agingstorecom-c375194.html#c805931 believes there data has been shared with other companies who have also taken money from her account.

Barclaycard have suspended the bills from my latest statement pending an investigation. They have cancelled my card and are sending a new one so that no further amounts can be taken from my account.

A lot of hassle. I would advise not using this company.
  • Have had similar experience. Contacted Citizens Advice and they would like to hear from anyone who has been charged money in this way. They are forwarding all info to Office of Fair Trading. The more people who complain, the better chance we have of getting our money back.

Good, and we shall invade the USA, put Lizzie back on the throne, Tax their tea and be done with their arrogance.

Then we shall impose our DSRs and SOGAs on them, and TS peoples will be feted forever.

Or will your goods be stopped at customs and taxed accordingly?

I have submitted an online report but that's useless because at the moment they don't deal with this kind of fraud. Did you just phone your local CAB?
    I don't drink, don't smoke, don't go out - why aren't I rich?
    Don't worry, I'm working on it! :p
