    Well done :)

An easy yorkshire recipe that hasn't failed me yet is Brian Turner's, ramakin of milk (I've used half milk half flour or even powdered milk when short of milk, flour and eggs, makes a WOW yorkshire pud mix (yes after so many failed attempts my first batch hit the top of the oven too!) especially good for doing toad in the hole. Bad for the diet but sooooo nice :D Agree with the good sausages, not too high fat content either or it'll be swimming in fat which isn't nice, well not in my opinion.
One day I might be more organised...........

im going to have a stab at making these this week, have never done it before :o i have a tub of cooked ickle sausages (10p) that has been knocking around in my freezer since xmas when i bought tons of stuff cheap...its time has come...they have to go as im sick of seeing them everytime i open the freezer door and this looks like a good solution.
if it turns out okay i will make it again using slighly better bangers than these to do your recipe justice i promise;)

I'm going to make toad in hole for the first time and am unsure how big the tin needs to be.

The tins I have in mind to use are either 22cm x 27cm (base measurement) or 29.5cm x 34.5cm. The larger one raises up in the middle, about a 4" square. Both are heavy/enamelled.

Using 6 thick sausages, which I will partly cook before adding the (half pint) of batter, which would be the best size to ensure the pudding batter has plenty of room to rise and cook properly please?

personally i would use the smaller one also put you fat in the tin in a hot oven whilst your cooking the sausages to make the batter rise really well

remember to give the tin enough head room in the oven for the batter to hopefully quadruple in size, i made mine the other day and it went crazy and ballooned up and nearlly got stuck to the top of my oven :rotfl:

I used the smaller of the two tins and it worked perfectly! :j

As I've had many a disaster with yorkshire puds I used a packet of batter mix (12p from Netto, so not too shameful :o OS wise) plus water and an egg.
    I'll defo buy that again!

Toad-in-the-hole is one of the easy ones :D

I cheat slightly and use a packet mix for the batter, cos I can't be bothered to whisk all the flour lumps out!

I half cook some sausages, then put in a oven-proof dish. Pour over the batter mix and cook until batter rises. (Usually about 30 mins)
Then serve with a mountain of cabbage and lots of gravy :p

    Hi Dippychick,

There's an earlier thread that should help so I'll add your post to it to keep all the recipes together.
