You can buy a packet of crisps for what he's charging postage! :rotfl:

He even offers £2 recorded delivery
  • It's nice to win something, the buzz was good :p , hopefully i am able to get my hands on it within 5days as they said, but i got a certain feeling it will be much longer since there are so many to send. Only spent £5 to win btw, all on crisps, as for the npn i sent in over 100 text using the t-mobile sim card with £10 credit i got from the freebies, so overall i am well chuffed. So keep trying u guys, although it does seem to be getting harder now since more ppl know abt this now. anyway billybob175  cheers!

    Hello.

A suggested technique for mass entry is to hook up your mobile phone to your PC. Many phones come with some software which allows for synchronisation, application installs and other random stuff, but more importantly, some allow you to send text messages from your phone by typing on your computer. Liberal use of Ctrl-C Ctrl-V and you're half-way there to an idea...

A fair method but I'd side with a bulk SMS web service which allows for batched processing. I've found several that will do the trick but to be honest the cost isn't really worth it. You're playing a statistics game and will more often than not lose.

I started to write the apps to grab the NPN codes, store in a database and use them. I even created a kind of browser that when it loads the walkers page only requires you to fill in the CAPTCHA image value, everything else was pre-filled... including an NPN code. Then I realized that you can't do NPN via the web, boy was I bummbed.

I've now got a little app which will just issue you an NPN code on demand and sends it via my PDA, quite handy really as it could theoritcally send hundreds of submissions per 5 minutes. But again it comes down to cost once again.

Loving this competition, very addictive. I'm honestly just loving the thrill of manually keying in my texts and firing them out there.

I've won one of the iPods and really chuffed, especially given the effort invested so far.

What I do is have a batch of SMS messages ready to send (10->20 at a time) in my SMS outbox. Then when the whim takes me I just open my outbox and send one. Worked once so you never know, just text when you're feelin' lucky.
... and that's all I have to say about that.

did you find some that would send to 82220 though, m8?

they've now updated their data on the number of entries again!!! This time multiplying by 325 (first 240, then 285, now 325. God knows what it'll be by the end of the competition!).

The data is available less the 325 multiplication here.
  • so has anyone got any reliable ways to win an ipod

This page shows the entries per draw sorted in various ways, (click the three links at the top)

It should be as up-to-date as the walkers site, and should automagically work out what factor they have multiplied the counts by,,

    enjoy :)

(if the site doesnt work for you, it should do soon when the dns entry propogates)

Im doing mine tonight between 3.30 and 4 (so everyone else stay off :rotfl: )

How much are the charging per text? They must be making as much money as they are giving away in Ipods.

Whats the betting they got bulk discount...... :p
I remember when this was just a little website! :money:

Walkers claim they aren't making money from txts. But why do people like me with free contract texts still get charged 8.5p per txt. Someone's making £££ (total of over 1.5 MILLION entries between 1 and 6 Sep) - if 3/4 are txting, then that's a spend on txts of around £100 grand in 6 days. If people keep going at this rate it'll be £5 Million by the end of the month!

I reckon the spike between 2000 and 2050 on the 1st may have been when Walkers entered all the entries people sent in before 1 Sep.
