Car Insurance Question

Can anyone advise which car insurance companies will insure if someone has a criminal conviction. This is not a motoring conviction. I just asked to have my son added to my insurance as he has just passed his test, but because he has a criminal record they will not insure him for at least another 7 years. Any help would be appreciated.

First off I would check how long the conviction takes to become spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
How old was he when he was convicted and what sentence was given?0 -
