I thought that the free bus pass for over 60's now covered the whole country. Yet there are posts saying not. Can someone please tell me if one can use a bus pass from anywhere in Britain for anywhere in Britain?

There are different passes for England, Wales and Scotland for those living in the various countries, hope this helps.0 -
What does the new pass entitle you to?
Since 2006 you have been entitled to the statutory minimum concession of free local bus travel in your area from 9.30 am to 11.00 pm on Monday to Friday and at any time during weekends and public holidays - and this will continue. Since 1 April 2008 you are also entitled to free local bus travel in all other areas of England during these off-peak times.
Local authorities may offer extra benefits to their residents as part of their concessionary scheme – for example, free or reduced off-peak tram or rail travel, or free bus travel before 9.30 am Monday to Friday.
However, these additional benefits will normally only be available to that region’s own residents. So if you visit an area that offers additional services, you probably won’t be entitled to them – make sure you check first with the relevant authority.DELETE ACCOUNT.

I'm sorry but you are just confusing the issue with this quote, can you give the link to the website where you found this.
edited to add I've Googled the quote and found it on the website for England...
Expansion of free bus travel in England
This does not mean that you can use the bus pass in Wales.0 -
Thought you might all like to see a reply I've had from Munros of Jedburgh who run an interesting route from Berwick on Tweed (Northumberland) to Galashiels (Scottish Borders)...
Hi,
English bus passes are valid for travel to and from all points between the border and Galashiels, providing the journey starts or finishes in Northumberland.
They are not valid for local travel within Scottish Borders.
Kind Regards
Ewan Farish
This is also the case heading in the other direction, pass holders from Scotland can travel for free to Carlisle and Berwick on Tweed but then cannot use their pass on buses once there.
In addition, you can use your National Entitlement Card on services to and from Carlisle and on services to and from Berwick-upon-Tweed from anywhere in Scotland. Your National Entitlement Card does not give you free bus travel within Carlisle or Berwick-upon-Tweed.

5 years till I get my bus pass. If the governent don't cancel it before then you should have it all worked out for where I can go. Thanks.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

As an aside, an old chap was being pessimistic by announcing to me that "once the government realise the success of this, they'll stop it as they're loosing money". But surely, given that a record of every passenger is being made, aren't they receiving something back in return?.This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
