We have just bought our first house and obviouly have no idea how much Gas & Elec we are going to use.
So do we stay with the current provider (Brittish Gas)..wait and switch later or try and find the best deal?
If we do look for the best deal how do we work out roughly how much we will use? The house we have bought was a buy to let and the previous tennent left over 2 month ago.

The national average, teddy...is 20,000 kwh for gas and 3300 for electric, and there is provision in the comparison sites to input basic date like number of bedrooms etc.
An inner terrace or a flat, for example, would use less than the figures above.
Make sure you give BG your readings on moving in.
The trend is towards online accounts and BG Click 5 seems popular.
With the credit crunch there will soon be a lot of previously bought-to-let houses for sale.0
