  • Well, there's a lot of stuff here saying rates will go up - Abbey just reduced by 6%

    If you google "interest rate predictions" you'll see that many project in 2009 they will drop as low as 3.5%. Rememeber US and Europe and see what they're doing. Exports will suffer if they go up. House sales falling and rates going up means repossessions and that means white goods and all the other things we buy for our homes will see fallen sales. It's a big ripple.

    My money is on rates coming down gradually over next year.
