Credit card without a permanent address

Hi,

I'm from Australia and have worked in the UK for 9 months. It occurs to me most CC providers require a permanent address in the UKin order for them to do a credit check on me, but I haven't got one since I've only been here for 9 months. Does anyone know any Visa/Mastercard provider that will be happy to do business with me? Thanks.

It doesn't have to be a permanent address. As long as you've lived at an address for awhile, that address should be shown on your credit report. Do you have a bank account with overdraft facility or a contract mobile phone account?

As you're quite new to the UK, I'd suggest you apply for Capital One Classic Card. Despite having a high interest rate at 34.9%, you're most likely to be accepted by them.

Your own bank in the UK is usually the best place to get a card because they'll already have a relationship with you, BUT
because you have no 'credit history' and you're probably not on the electoral role in the UK, you'll going to find it very difficult to get any card whatsoever. You'd proably be better applying for an Ozzy card if you have any kind of history back home ?
