I usually wait until I get my P60's and then put in for my yearly rebate.

    Its definately 6 years.

I recently claimed a rebate for 06/07 and as I hadn't got my butt in gear since I first called them to enquire how to go about it I called again to ask how long I had, they said 6 years.

You can claim tax back up to 5 years and 10 months from the end of the tax year you want to make a claim.

So for 2002-03 the deadline for claiming is 31 January 2009.
