Wife and I currently have the above plan. Wife 42 non smoker,me 45 non smoker. Had plan covering £172000 last 10 years - premium £37 per month. New quote to cover £188000 £47 per month. Policy has terminal illness cover but I also have this seperately. Part of this is 10 year review and part to cover inflation. Can I do better ?
Any info greatly appreciated

There is no harm is getting some quotes for the same cover as long as you make it clear what benefits are within plan when you ask for quotes so that you know you are getting like for like figures.
My experience - if there isn't much in it and because you are now 10 years older (assurance gets more expensive the older you get because of the risk) I would be tempted not to bother. You will need to complete a new application form with all of your health details and possibly have to have a Medical Examination/tests depending upon your medical history.
Hope this helps.0 -
Many of the whole of life providers do not quote on the usual web portals. So, getting quotes from these portals is not going to give you a good range.
Life cover has gone down in cost a lot over the last 10 years but you have got older. Also, WOL plans are a mixture of beasts and often you have to compare like for like to get a true cost and that isnt always easy.
If you are still in good health and have the time, then it may be worth it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
