Can you see any other wireless networks? Have you double checked that the wireless adaptor is enabled? Have you reset the router?

  • you could plug directly into your router via network cable, and double check the settings of the router... but to me it seems like something has changed in your operating system.. firewall/network settings.. have you installed any software or made any changes since the problem?
I dont owe nothing, I own everything I have... dont do buy now pay later, dont do credit cards, dont do loans...

Yes I mean to reset powerwise and not the reset button, that could be a disaster.

Ive not changed any settings to do with the firewall, but i have news, i restored the router to factory settings like i said and the laptop has found the router but it wont connect, i select my network and i click connect and a warning box pops up and says "windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Please try again"

    Yes i can

i owe someone an apology, you asked me if id changed any settings and i said no, it seems that i had my router using WPA-PSK [TKIP] + WPA2-PSK [AES] security when i should have had it on WPA-PSK [TKIP]

    my apologies

If you did a hard reset of the router then you will have wiped out the security settings. Are you connected to the router on another machine with an ethernet cable? I would suggest that you disconnect the laptop from the network and reboot it, this will force a new connection. Let me know.
