Well I checked in the firewall settings ( never been there before , and I could bet my bottom dollar neither has my dad ) and ie was blocked ???? Mad. He's been using it for months and it has been fine. Anyway, I set them to "allow" and it seems to be working fine again.
I'm so sorry for taking up your Friday night, I really appreciate your help so much. Anyone who has their elderly parents living with them will know exectly what I mean LOL.
Many, many thanks. You've saved my sanity. It was boxed up and ready to go back to the shop when I got home tonight - still under guarantee you see LOL.

lol, the thing that I put mine happening down to was it did an automatic update which sent the settings off so I have now set it to now automaticly do the updatesWeight Loss - 102lb0

last weekend i kept getting windows explorer is not responding , even if i wasnt trying to access the internet , I could still get online through firefox , but could only have one window open at a time , after a few days it suddenly started working ok0
