firefox - unable to post?

I've been having dreadful problems with my laptop loading up IE, so OH has suggested making the switch to Firefox. For the most part, it's working - except on the MSE forums! I can read threads, navigate around - but I can't post. The box in which to type is grey, rather than white.

I'm a bit lacking in technical knowledge (can you tell? :rolleyes: ) - can anyone help?

have you logged in user name and password .

I am using Firefox 2 and 3 in both cases the quick reply box is grey as it is as i type this .
One point about Firefox is that you customize it to suit yourself with themes extensions and add ons .Done via Tools and add ons and have a look around .

As long as the Post Quick Reply button is not greyed out, you can post. using FF as I post this.

It's grey on Firefox3b5 - are you sure you can't type in it, or just assuming you can't because it's not white? Have you tried?

The reply box is always grey in Firefox, I never realise it was different in IE as i never use it.

it is grey for me too, never seen it any other way, and i use firefox (with ietab for those badly written pages).
just try typing in the box works for me both on quick reply (which i always use) and add reply (which i'm trying now to test)

Lol....this post is very funny. I have had the same problem for ages...and never even thought to try typing in the grey box. Its just such a natural assumption - greyed out = no worky.

It used to be the regular white until one of the Firefox updates...and I never had the time to investigate what was going on.

Ashamed to say that I work with computers and consider(ED!) myself to be very tech savvy! Now getting mick taken out of me by the wifelet.
