  • If that is true then Martin's advice to change suppliers instead of waiting (was at least two weeks or so ago I think) might not have been the best thing.

What is worse is that I have just applied to Powergen to take my gas, so I would have both from them. At the moment my gas is with British Gas, am in the middle of switching over at the moment.

In a few years time we'll all save money during the winter as the country won't be able to power itself anyway :)

I am in mid switch to Powergen’s online tariff for gas and electricity.  I used the link on the Currys website so as to cop their £40 voucher.

I was therefore concerned to read Jodie’s post as I had been assured by Powergen’s CS that there were no price rises in the pipeline having just increased their charges in August.

I contacted Powergen’s CS at 3.00 p.m. today and was informed by a supervisor that he was not aware of any price rise in gas and/or electricity charges.

Call me an old sceptic but “not aware” of any price rise is not the same as, “we have not increased our charges”.

    I hope I’m proved wrong.

Its alright saying go on the capped rate but how much is the capped rate compared to the normal standard rate because in all the leaflets they keep sending me not once does it mention the capped rate price !

Im thinking its as swiz to make people think they are getting a better deal than they actually are.
