Lorraine Pascal did a 'Doris Grant' loaf on her 'Baking Made Easy' series on BBC. Have made this a couple of times over the past few days and it has worked well.
You should be able to get the details on the BBC food website.

I recently found this thread and now I struggle to make bread any other way! The bread gets better the longer the dough has been left and it's really convenient for me (working mum).
The basic recipe (which should be linked in the thread) just states mixing the ingredients together in a big tub/container. No Kneading! Leave it to rise for around 2-3 hours at room temp, then transfer it to the fridge. Can be left for up to a week and you just take out a blob of dough as and when, shape it or pop in a loaf tin, leave for 45 mins and bung in the oven.
Kids love it too - it's kind of like ciabatta bread.

There's video clips on YouTube as well to show you how they do it if you've any problems.

    hi everyone!!

my youngest son is allergic to gluten and ive been struggling to make gluten-free bread from scrath for him but after finding this thread ive altered the recipe on the first post slightly and ive just made a wonderful bread from scratch at less than one third of the price of a store bought gf loaf!!

    i used:
500g doves gluten free bread flour mix
1 sachet of yeast (one recommended for breadmakers as thats all i had)
    1tsp salt
    1tsp sugar
    1 medium egg
    about 1pt of water

i only left it for one rising and i dont have a loaf tin (my mum has 2 she never uses so i am long term borrowing (read stealing lol) them tomorrow) and im going to try baking more as it didnt rise that much but it was quite nice considering its gluten free! and it wasnt that crumbly.

next time im going to add in an extra 1st or 2 of xanthum gum to help it rise and make it that bit better and ill post again after ive tried again this weekend.

i cant thank you enough for that recipe coz i was nearly in tears trying to find a recipe and its ridiculously priced for gf bread!! verging on £3 a loaf for one that you can actually make a sarnie out of!!

Hello and thank you for reading.

My only spend today will be £1.50 on a loaf of bread. I have bread flour bough it my mistake a few weeks ago. So i am thinking of buying yeast and making some bread. Trouble is i have never made it before and don't have a recipe, can anyone point me in the right direction please.

    Thank You
