Thanks, but it was def recipe for handmade, they had seperate one for BM. It looks like its working though, just proving in tin now, next time will start at 250 and just add a little at a time.
OK may have slightly exaggerated the soup like consistency, but was more like cake batter (a wet one, like a sponge cake) than dough0 -
I'm sure I read somewhere that the wetter the dough, the lighter the bread? I therefore always try and keep my dough as sticky as possible, although dry enough to work, but I do still start with 60% liquid to solids, and also always add a splop of margarine to keep it light.0

You say this, I had a no knead recipe for bread, and it was 1.5kg Flour and 2.25ltrs of water... was very runny, but it made wonderful bread.... you couldn't have kneaded it if you tried thoughWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I have started making bread by hand. Currently the loaf recipe I use Is a mix of the river cottage basic white and a recipe from Dough by Richard Bertinet. I have mixed results with these though. Whats the best recipe for home made bread that makes nice soft fluffy bread and is baked in a tin?? I have access to fresh yeast as well as dried if that makes any difference!!
Thank you for advice in advance :beer:0 -

I just made some the other day using wholemeal flour, yeast, salt and water - tasted great.
What flour did you use?0 -
I use a mixture of half and half white and wholemeal strong flour, as I find 100% wholemeal isn't to my families taste. How much salt did you use, because I find if I don't put enough in the bread can taste a bit bland.0
