You Tube
Is it just me, but I'm trying to upload a 2/3 min video on You Tube and it's taking forever!!! I'm not very technically minded, but it seemed simple enough to do. Why is it taking so long?

I uploaded the same video earlier, and it came out with the lip sync all out of order

What am i doing wrong?

PS have also posted this in the arms to see what the clever peeps over there think

sounds like the format of your video clip isn't too compatible with Youtube. what's the file extension (3 letters after the fullstop in the filename) of your clip? AVI, MPG, etc.. and how big is the file?

    Taken from YouTube FAQ:

    Uploading Your Videos to YouTube

Once you're happy with your final result, you'll need to save the video in a format that YouTube can accept in order to upload. Unless you're a professional video producer, we recommend that you save your videos as either QuickTime .MOV, Windows .AVI, or .MPG files— these are the most common formats and they work well within our system. We specifically recommend the MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format at 640x480 resolution with MP3 audio. Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your clips look better on YouTube.

that's probably a .wmv file then, not a preferred format, which would explain the synch errors.

41mb is a fair size to upload on a normal broadband connection (assuming the average 256k upload speed). I would use DiVX Converter ( http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/converter/ ) to compress the video to a smaller size and suitable format.
Note for install, only choose the DiVX Codec and Converter, say 'no' to the toolbar and player (waste of space).
After installing, just drag your video onto the converter icon. It will output after a few minutes on your desktop as a '.divx' file - just 'rename' the file to '.avi' (it'll still play, just causes less confusion for website upload software)

Yeah, the sync problem could be due to WMV using VBR audio instead of CBR audio, if you still wish to use WMV, you could instruct it to save with CBR audio and not VBR.

Though I usually use DivX with MP3 CBR audio, saves any problems.
