Post Office £50 Cashback Car insurance question

I used the Post Office last year for the £50 CB offer, its now time to get insured for another year and the PO is one of the cheapest again.

If I get a new policy from them, i.e not renew, wil I get another £50 cashback.

It does say it is for new customers only but will a new policy be classed as a new customer, has anyone done it 2 years running?

Thanks for looking

No reason why your plan would fail. Do it via quidco for an extra £23.80 cashback from the quidco transaction.

Also get other quotes from other insurers offering cashbacks (some much more than £74) via quidco.

Im not so sure. The T+Cs state that the offer is available to 'new customers' not 'new policies'.

If the OP has previously had a policy through PO then they would not be a 'new customer'. It would be fairly simple for the PO to cross check their records (it may even be an automated check) and decline the cashback.

The T+Cs also state that the cashback does not apply to rebroked policies, which is in effect what the OP is doing.

The total cheapest is LloydsTSB (with their £80) offer, but someone crashed into the back of the car last month and it stil isn't resolved fully-although, pretty sure we wil be classed as not to blame.

I know LloydsTSB conditions state something like 'transaction must be wholly completed online' and have read reports where if they phone to query something, then the CB offer is no longer valid.

And with the current claim 'ongoing'-they may well have the need to phone for further info

Thanks for replying-its between the PO and LloydsTSB so far

I'm inclined to agree with you, probably have to gamble on LloydsTSB.

I insured my car last year with them and got the CB no problem
