C1 card: when does 0% start?

I have been approved for the Captical One 18month 0% card and got the form to sign with wording "your card will be with you in 7 to 10 days". However my current 0% won't finish until mid-December.
I am wondering when the 0% starts: after they approved my application or after they receive my signed agreement? Can I actually delay the return of the signed form to maximise my 0% period?

Ring them to ask. I would assume you could delay the start of 0% by not sending back the form, but it is not always clear. Of course it is in their interest for 0% to start ASAP, and if you wait too long, could your application have lapsed?I'm married now! Yippee!0

You definitely can delay it.
The exact wording for the 18 month period is
There are other things to bear in mind here ... you can delay/accelerate your first statement by setting up a DD when you call to activate the card. E.g. I phoned up asking for DDs to be taken on the 14th (pay day), so they said the statements would be issued on the 21st (IIRC) which has just passed ... therefore no statement till 21 November and first payment 14 December. For any statement period beginning within the first 18 months
This means my 18 months started on 22 October which is just about when the balance transfers were done.
If you choose the wrong DD/statement date, I think you could lose some weeks of your 18 months. So worth checking when you phone them up.0
