Hi there,
My son has just turned 13. I want to move his savings account to one that is more "grown up". Can anyone advise of an account for him which offers an online service and a card for ATM transactions? Obviously, I hope it will have a competitive interest rate as well!
thanks in advance,

Mine has a Nationwide "Smart" account which does all that. Currently it's around 5.5%. btw, make sure he gets an R85 as not all branches suggest it (though ours did).Debbie0

Yorkshire BS has the Freedom account for 12-21 yr olds which has a Link card and importantly the rate is good at 5.65%. You can set a monthly withdrawal limit too. They do have a facility to view balances, statements etc online if you register but don't know if there is a minimum age for that. I can't believe that there would be as you can only view, not make payments which is normal for a savings account.
