How to get camcorder to play through laptop

Can anyone tell me how I can get my Sony DCR-DVD106E camcorder to play what it is recording at the time directly onto my laptop ???

Is it a DVD recorder? Take out the DVD and put it in your laptop or have you got a firewire connection on your laptop? I usually play mine just through a USB connection.0

OK - sorry - what i mean is - is there a way that i can get it to play on the laptop what it is recording at the time? So that you can see on the laptop what the camcorder is taping?
Its for a work thing and this is what I need it to be able to do - but i don't know if its possible - can anyone help?0 -
