I have asked a number of times but they're not really helpfull, they just said it needs to be sent in min 300dpi or alternatively they could just scan some pics from brochures etc. They suggested I let their team do the ads for me but for extra cost, This is not an option for me as I would like to be able to do my own designs and learn a bit more along the way.

    thanks

    Mike

Not a nice bunch you have there, don't they have any competitors? How about posting your ad, or referencing your ad so that we can see what it looks lie as the the graphics people in the forum may comment
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

How do I go about saving as PDF format

You can download a free piece of software to convert any document to a PDF. Here is a thread about it. Basically the software installs itself as a virtual printer, you go file/print then select the PDF printer, and instead of physically printing the document you can save the PDF on your hard disk and email it as an attachment in the normal way.

I use CutePDF (the freeware version) at work and its very good. Its a virtual printer so click "Print" and choose the CutePDF printer in any application (including Publisher) and it saves the file for you.

It will produce much better results in print than a low resolution jpeg.
