Hi, I opened a premier plus a/c with A&L on 22nd feb 2005 and also had the platinum credit card which I did not receive till 8th April 05
I thought then the deal was if I opened the a/c I would get £25 cash which I did receive and if I also had the cc and used it in a certain time I would get another £25 which I have not received, they tell me now that because my a/c was opened before 14th March 2005 I am not elegible for this incentive.
As I have not got any information on this I'm wondering if anyone can remember the deal A&L was doing back in February this year, I'm sure I read it
somewhere on this great site but I'm unable to find it.

I have had exactly the same problem with them. The bottom line is that they reckon the commencement date of this offer was sometime in March. If you applied before then (it seems irrelevent if you got the card later than that date) then you don't get the £25 bonus. As I have not kept a record of any dates than I feel powerless to argue with them. Good luck to anyone who is equipped with their account dates, it would be great to see the inept A and L customer service advisors proved wrong! I guess with the excellent interest rate of 5% I could have more to grumble about.

A&L are cr*p....i've been chasing my 50 quid incentive for the reomend a friend thing since the 8th August....
on each occasion i've been told it will be done in the next ten days.
This morning she says that there's not a lot more i can do...just wait for it!!!
i've got another couple that should be coming in next month...lets see how those go...

Hi Jon,
I joined A&L in Feb 05, received my card in April 05 and they paid me my £25, YES £25 incentive for joining.
Now check this out,
Go to a&l home page, click "other sevices" then "A&L corporate website" then "media centre" a box drops down, choose "archive" then click 2005, now on January 25th the incentive bonus was £20 and this went into Feb, sometime in Feb it must have changed as I GOTPAID £25 incentive, in March 1st it says it has increased this bonus to £25 plus £25 for C/C if used within 60 days, then it says only a/c's opened after 14th March is this paid out.
Something seems a bit odd to me.
I still believe when I applied in February this promotion for £25 + £25 bonus for c/c had started as I'm sure it was on this site I learnt from Martin as best current account.

I,ve been writing to A&L in an atempt to get the £25 for the credit card. Got the bank £25 incentive OK. All I've got from A&L is a standard reply to acknowledge my letter.
Looking at the dates on this thread and the apparant lack of action from A&L it does not bode well for getting the promised £25 incentive.0 -
I have not received any bonus as yet, I have written to Bootle and Leicester, but got no response.0

I have to agree that A&L are pretty crap at this admin thing. I was gonna go for their Premier Direct with a £100 incentive but have decided to stick with my own bank. A&L just don't or wont give you enough info!0

I've been discussing this on 'A & L email' and 'A & L recommend a friend?' threads.
I too am waiting for £25 from the credit card promotion. Have chased it up today and been promised that it will appear on my next statement....
As for the recommend a friend £50 - I await a reply from my letter to the Executive Chairman. Like I've got nothing better to do than press about thirty buttons on the phone in order to even talk to someone and then resort to writing to the Chairman after a previous letter to the Head Office was never even acknowledged.
Without a doubt this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
If it wasn't for the free overdraft I'd have been off long ago!!!0
