Help! DVD playback in black & white!

Hi all!

Have a problem. Since connecting a freeview box to my tv in bedroom dvd's only play in black & white!

TV has one scart, dvd player has 1 scart, freeview box has 2 scarts-connected as follows....DVD SCART to VCR Scart on freeview box, SCART from TV scart on freeview box to scart on TV, Aerial socket to aerial in on freeview box, flylead from freeview box to aerial socket on TV.

freeview box is a THOMSON box with card slot.

If I plug scart DIRECTLY to tv from DVD then dvd plays fine in colour!

Checked all connections/leads etc-all fine! I only watch DVDS occaisionally in my bedroom but TV is in an awkward position to keep pulling out/putting in SCART leads.

Any ideas?

Will be out from 10-30am to 9-30 this evening so will thank all (I hope!) then!

Chris

have you changed the scart lead from the dvd to the freeview box.?

what about replacing the freeview box.?

would count that the tv, and freeview - tv scart lead is all ok.

Its a possibility that the loop through in the Freeview box is not fully wired, you could check if the TV is set to receive S-Video or RGB and the box is only wired for composite video.
If all else fails I guess the only alternative is a scart switching box.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Thanks guys! Deffo checked all leads (& tried swapping with new ones)-no difference. Freeview box fine too. So....looks like I'm stuck with either pulling out freeview scart from tv & putting in DVD scart OR getting a two way scart switch.

    Any other ideas anyone?

Hi Chris, this is a long shot, but I have booked holidays with you in the past and am wanting to book again, but have lost your number. If you are still around on MSE, could you contact me please?

Alternatively, if anyone has Chris's contact details at Future Travel, please could you pass them on to me?

    Many thanks
