I was up early too. Joined Pigsback and a few other of the money sites. Already made £2 today! Wow.
Afraid I have to get some shopping today - not looking forward to that even though it's only bits and pieces, but our local market is open so maybe I'll pick up cheapies from there.
Stopped hubby from forking out a fiver on a solar garden light yesterday, 'it's only a fiver' he says. 'Yep, a fiver that can buy bread' I reply.

Hey BOS, I slapped my daughter when she was about 5 one time only, we were on holiday and she was being a bloody nightmare, it was midnight and she was hyper. She kept running up and down the hallway in the hotel banging on peoples doors. I kept dragging her in, tried putting her in bed and she kept getting up screaming and generally being a nightmare. So, ms toto who had never before raised a hand to a child slapped her bum. She screamed, i walked away crying and felt guilty and like the mother from hell all night. it did the trick though, she went quietly to bed and even now (she's 12 on monday) still remembers that one and only slapped bum. Sometimes I joke with her that if she doesn't tidy her room I'll get my slapping hand on and she soon runs off giggling, noooo that bloomin slappin hand is a killer.
So, although it probably wouldn't have got me the parent of the year award it didn't do either of us any harm in the long run.:A

Great idea about meeting at Weatherspoons....can't get there today because am babysitting in a bit, and bringing one baby would be hard enough, but two??
Count me in next time though, I can get there really easily from here.

Always took my breath away. I did not do it a again after the 3rd time. I left home. I was 4. I sat in the garded shed until the ice cream van came round.

How are you this morning chick?
Linda, excellent advice from the lovely snaggles there^^^^^. Just think through how you got to that point and try to figure out how you can act differently next time.
My oldest son (15) is a total sweetheart but will totally lose his temper once in a blue moon, he actually punched me last time in a total fit because I had closed his computer down while he was playing on it as he wouldnt get ready for a meal out. It took all the strength I had not to slap him but I just stood stock still and in a calm voice said "Just think what you are doing son". He apologised later and really felt awful. Next day it was all forgotton.
How old is your daughter? But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
She's 5
...LindaIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
