What game is it? Have you played it before on your PC or is this the
first time? How much RAM do you have?

Do you have anything else running while you are playing? Or have you installed anything else lately that might be causing a problem?

Seems strange, have you tried a 'system restore' to see if that
    makes a difference.

ps. what's your character name(if I see you I will say hi) or your home location in Second Life
pps. gotta go to bed now, hope you get sorted ;)

Sounds as if it is running out of memory due to other apps. or processes.

Have you done a hard reset cycle? That is switch the machine off and then re-boot.

When you re-boot, EXIT all un-necessary software programs specially IM apps. (check Task Manager).

    Then try again...

    That's my 2 pence worth...;)

Before you do a system restore, when you get the blue screen that asks if you want to boot up in SAFE mode; select "Last known good configuration" and try that first...

    Sometimes helps!

2GB is enough for most tasks it looks like something else is going on running wise or one of the memory sticks may be at fault .

You probably have a leaky application, a leaky app doesn't close off the memory usage and just uses more and more till you run out. What operating system are you running? If you are running vista there is an inbuilt memory checking tool that you can run to see if it is a hardware problem.
