how long to wait before reapplying for transfer deal?

HiAm getting into a financial spiral with credit card charges for both myself and spouse, in part due to not realising changes in employment/income source would majorly impact on whether we're accepted or not on loans/credit card applications. Basically, have one largeish 0% deal with Egg until October (around £6K), and 2 high interest cards (one each) with Barclays (around 3.5K each). The latter I attempted to consolidate around end of last year and got knocked back several times (yes I know - too many applications). Having both a good history, paid on time etc. I failed to consider that, for the previous year I had left full time work and become my husband's carer (so receiving carer's benefit) and my husband's income was his occupational pension plus disability benefits and pension credit (which pays a large part of the mortgage, council tax etc.) Perversely we are no worse off financially (my pay wasn't great before) but no company (I can only deduce) will accept us due to our source of income (I checked on experian - my husband's rating was classed "poor", can only see as caused by that number of refused applications, and those due to income-type, as no other problems in our history). Can anyone advise HOW LONG (ball park) one needs to wait to reapply - the advice always is to "leave it a while" - but realistically, does this need to be a full year ie. so is no longer listed on the file??And I'm only thinking this as I'm writing - do we have a snowball's chance in hell of being accepted by anyone for a low interest transfer deal, with our present income source??And lastly, can anyone advise of experiences with companies more open to accepting applications such as ours???I haven't been in this situation before, with mounting monthly payments and another huge one looming on the horizon - does anyone have any advice???(yes I know the above was due to diabolical financial planning....)

I really don't know for a fact, but I can't see you getting 0% deals I'm afraid, those are normally only given to people with better credit ratings than you and your husband (I'm basing this just on your source of income). No harm in trying though. If you made lots of applications in a short space of time, I would wait the full 12 months before applying for anything else :) good luck
