Who has told you you are entitled to a full refund?0 -
and who pays for your 6 month usage?
Full refund after 6 months is having a laugh, your entitled to a repair, store credit or partial refund at the preference of the store0 -

if an item is faulty within the 1st 12 months you are entitled to a refund, after 2 faults i would be demanding a refund as the item is not fit for purpose. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I am sure people keep getting "not fit for purpose" mixed up with "faulty" and surely they are two completely different definitions?0
-
Yes.
Not fit for purpose means you cannot use it for the purpose advertised, described or explained to you by the salesperson. For example if I go into a shop and say I want to buy a laptop that I can play certain computer games on it, the salesperson says I can play the games on it and I take the laptop home and find I cannot then the laptop is not fit for purpose.
Faulty means it doesn't work in the way it should. For example if I buy a lamp with a bulb, plug it in and the lamp doesn't work. Change the bulb to a new bulb and the lamp still doesn't work I can presume the lamp is faulty.
The real question for the OP is it the second breakdown within 6 months of purchase, or is it the second breakdown after it was repaired 6 months ago?
Under the Sale of Goods Act you are allowed you to claim against the retailer if you buy faulty goods. Fridges are designed to last for years. If an item breaks down within the first 6 months it is presumed by law that the item was faulty when you purchased it and so can claim a full refund. After that you can claim a repair or partial refund. Some retailers will still give you a full refund after six months due to wanting to maintain their reputation.
