Problems with ICICI?

Anyone else have problems with ICICI HiSave?

Just tried last weekend to transfer £8K out of my HiSave account to my linked account. Had confirmation it would transact on the Monday. Lo and behold, today got an email saying that due to "technical problems", the transaction would not actually happen until today - Thursday 10th. As I'd already written a cheque from my linked account for the £8K and given it to the builder, the cheque has now bounced and I'm out of pocket with Barclays.

Just taken me 45 minutes to log a "complaint" with ICICI in an attempt to retrieve the bounced cheque charge.

Is this standard for ICICI?

Thanks.

[q] Is this standard for ICICI? [/q]

Not in my experience. I transferred £3,600 from ICICI Bank on 1st April, to cover this year's Cash ISA subscription - the money was cleared in my linked account on 3rd April, sooner than I anticipated.

Any ccorrespondence which I have addressed to my ICICI Bank Account Manager has been dealt with promptly & satisfactorily to date.

Had an email today from ICICI about having to change password before 15 April to include "special characters (such as £, $, %, etc). " but I have been unable to log in to do this because of "technical difficulties" on their website.

Hope it is all back working again soon!

    Yes.

There are too many technical difficulties for my liking I'm afraid and so this bank will no longer be receiving my custom.

A payment past, they took twice the amount authorised by me from linked account leaving me overdrawn. Then to top things off, I instructed them on Monday when a payment should have left account that it hadn't and was given the explanation it doesn't always debit the day it leaves (despite reading off the terms and conditions of the account which stipulates that it does - even to the manager of the call centre). I am very disappointed with this company and have never had ANY problems with any companies before. It just seems to be one thing after the other and I don't trust my money in this company any more.

I was given a number of false reassurances that I would be called back by supervisors which did not happen.

The customer service is also not up to the standards which is normal for customers based in the UK.

I too have been a victim of there so called "Technical problem" this week. It has held up a transfer of £5k in my case. As the per Bob2007 I am really sick of this company. It seems to be one thing after another. Communication in the event of a problem is abysmal. So are the response times from the account manager. All i ever receive is scripted replies.

Despite an admission to a Technical fault, today I have received a reply to one of my emails telling me that this is normal and a BACS transfer takes 3-4days Yes I know that so why haven't i got my money. The bull that they come out with is appalling and the staff that man the "Toll free number" are equally bad. All they ever do is apologise and forward my comments which fall of deaf ears. Never offering an adequate proactive resolution.

As a gesture of goodwill or admission's of liability the least they could have done is CHAPS the funds to the relevant linked accounts at their cost for the affected customers. Its all about contempt for the customer and greed with this bunch of jokers.

I'm glad my money is heading towards Kaupthing. So far the Icelander's service has been great. Despite a few hiccups they have sorted out issues in a timely manner and are very friendly. No waiting on the phone or transferring, three rings ad the call is answered and the person who answers deals with the issue. I really hope this was just their standard and not just a rare occasion.

What a difference two years makes. I used to sing ICICI's praises, but in recent months the service has nose dived to new depths of incompetence I'll be glad to see the back of these cowboys. I really hope people take note of these comments.

I have this email too. I tried to log on too and they are having "Technical Difficulties" that banner on the top of the screen warning of scheduled maintenance and outages never seems to get a rest!

Despite sending the email out once I logged on I noticed you can't change the password to the formats they want us to. probably another "Technical difficulty"!

If anyone from ICICI bank are reading this, they may want to look at there IT infrastructure. It is not possible to run a bank on networked Speak & Spells!

It's not just me, then. I'd arranged a transfer for Monday (partly for my ISA subscription, which I'd already sent off by cheque), and was horrified to find it hadn't happened on Thursday (maybe I should have checked earlier). I telephoned ICICI (seemed to take quite a while to get through), and on their advice I put in a CHAPS request for the money to come through immediately, which it did the same day (for a fee).

I've now put in a complaint to ICICI to reclaim the CHAPS charges, and warned them I'll be looking to them for my unauthorised overdraft fees as well. I'll let you know what happens.

Ironically, this transfer was to almost empty my ICICI account. Once the dust settles, I think I'll delete the 'almost'.

    Had the same problem too...

Transferred £3600 out on Tuesday knowing I was going to open an ISA Thursday. Thursday came and expecting the money to be in my account by Friday wrote out a cheque only to find out that the transfer had been delayed til Thursday. Doh!

I was going to complain today but found that the amount had cleared in my linked account today (unusual for a Saturday?).

    Anyway, not good enough ICICI!!

I also got the email about having to change your password. When I logged on and tried to change the password, it still specified that it had to be all numerical

If you search the forum, you will find a post which contains a reply from ICICI Bank to a query about changing the password, to the effect that the new password format will not be available until tomorrow (14th April).;)
