Potential working tax credit claim for 2008/09

Facts

I am working/wife isent.
Due to my income we could make a 'sucessful' claim for wtc.
However, in a couple of months, hopefully, wife will be working again and this would probably push our income over the threshold.
If above happens would they look to claim back monies already paid up to the date of increase in income.
Just want to know what 'hassle' we would b in 4...and to budget accordingly.

TIA

Comments

  • If your income for 07/08 was too high to claim and there is a chance that it could be too high by the end of 08/09 it is seriously not worth the hassle.
  • Noted...but do they claim back the money tht is paid when income was not too high?

Yes - its based on a full tax years income. So if your wifes income takes you over the limit for the year, you will have to repay what you have already had.
