Yes i had just received the forms for the 6.41% from Saga,but as i can't decide between them,the Coventry and now the new Birmingham Midshires bond i hadn't sent off the cheque.Just as well now they are bringing this new bond out.I thought the rate going down would mean lower rates for savers,not more!!

Saga is done through BM anyway.They were quick sending the forms,unlike Coventry and they also do not require ID which is a real pain having to get passports etc verified.So i might wait and see what BM's forms are like,or reapply to Saga.Spoilt for choice at the moment.!!

U better off waiting until 14th as SAGA are upping the rate to 6.71%

Yes that is what i thought.It is obvious Saga take a cut though if the bond is the same as BM's account with the same conditions.They make it sound like we oldies get favoured rates but in fact we get worse!! Even Northern Rock's silver savings have gone down twice in a short space of time and i bet they nosedive again.It seems as if only the fixed rate accounts are going up.
