Contract Advice - Possible Debt

Right, i've had a reply via post.
Ashbourne say they are unable to cancel my membership as I have taken out a 36 month contract. They have not mentioned my points regarding the changing of the contract by hand after I had signed the contract.
My only way out of it is by transferring it to someone else (I know of non-one who would want a 36 month contract!) or cancelling it for a maximum of 2 months upon receipt of proof of financial difficulty!
What is my next step? I don't want to sit back and let money go out of my account each month for a contract length that I did not agree too.

Yesterday.
No cooling off period according to contract.
So I have a leg to stand on then?
I shall contact them and see how they react. Not sure how to word it, but i'll see what I can do.
all contracts have a 14 day cooling off period. mobile phone/lifeinsurance...
it's the law (i though it was compulsory)
be firm, and don't loose your temper but i'm fairly certain that you should be able to get out of this contract. thet are mean, and evil for trying to dupe you and should be sent to the hell of gyms where they are made to wash everyone's scabby gym socks
.
good luck

I've been told that as I signed up at the gym, this means there is no cooling off period.
I'm going to continue fighting for justice, but i'm not sure if I should cancel the standing order and risk debt companys chasing me
First payment is not due until 9th May and it has not appeared on my online banking yet.
I refuse to use the gym, as it would mean that I agree with the change of terms...and I don't

After 2 months, I have made a successful court claim against Ashbourne and received a full refund today
