    Thanks for the support guys.
    Just spoke to ING.
    They advise that if the money is returned to them, they can open a new account, however the account would be for 2008/2009 because it would be new transferred funds in from this financial year and i could not add to it!!!!

    To be honest I just want to find my 6k and hide it under my bed!!!!!

    That's absolute rubbish. They can either accept it as a 'transfer back' ... in which case you can still add your £3600 (wherever that is?). Or they can accept they never did the transfer in the first place ... and then just re-instate your ISA as 'ISA manager' error. And then add the £3600 (wherever it is!)

    I do think you've been a bit .... er, unwise. But you seem to have enough evidence of intent, that they can simply re-instate the ISA either under transfer rules ... or under the rules governing ISA manager error.
    If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
